I am Mahpara Alam, a Program Specialist in Social Justice and Inclusion at BLAST (Bangladesh Legal Aid Service Trust). My work centers on the provision of justice to marginalized individuals who have been structurally silenced due to a long history of oppression and exclusion from their rights. With over ten years of experience in the development sector, I specialize in gender rights, women's rights, refugee rights, and the rights of marginalized communities, including Dalit castes, tea garden workers, and climate-affected communities, among others. My professional objective is to bring justice to all forms of social and institutional reform through advocacy, policy change/revision, and community resilience building. As a human rights defender, my commitment is to build a society where equity exists to its fullest. I hold an MS in Development Studies and an MS in Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies from The University of Dhaka.
