My name is Laiba Ali and I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in History, with a major in South Asian History. I have been working as a feminist activist in Pakistan for the past 3 years, with a focus on socialist feminism which resonates with the masses in my country and provides a way forward in their specific context. I’m particularly interested in tracing the roots of patriarchy in the South Asian region, the resistance movements that emerged here over time, its impacts, and the future strategies that the feminists of this region can adopt to build greater solidarity. I’ve also been associated with leftist student organizations to raise my voice for the concerns of the students, especially females, regarding inherent injustices in our rotten educational structure, and to mobilize the students against the authoritative administration.
