The global sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) landscape is undergoing a period of rapid transformation. Swiftly shifting legal frameworks, the intentional rollback of hard won SRHR rights, the rising backlash against it, and simultaneously diminishing funding are posing formidable challenges for the future of the SRHR movement. At the same time, global civil society actors working towards the promotion of a rights-based, feminist, and intersectional approach to SRHR are continuously adapting, to confront the emerging realities they find themselves grappling with.
It is in this background that we are working with the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR), with the goal of developing a future-proof strategy designed to respond to and overcome the challenges that the ecosystem is finding itself within. Over the coming months, we will undertake an evidence-driven, participatory, co-designed and member-led approach to reviewing the current strategy, culminating in a clear set of strategic priorities, actions, and success indicators for the future. Together, we will collaboratively shape a forward looking, responsive, and sustainable theory of change and strategy framework which will guide WGNRR’s actions in a rapidly evolving global context. The goal through this process is not just to ensure sustainability of WGNRR, but of the movement.
We are thrilled to be working alongside WGNRR through this journey as we collectively reimagine our role in the current climate, plan for the way forward, and use our learnings to inform our approach and methodology. Keep an eye out to know more about the progress being made as we work towards co-designing the next chapter of WGNRR.
