Senior Manager, Consulting

Position Title: Senior Manager 

Reporting to: CEO 

Benefits: 5000 INR towards health insurance, accident cover of 25 lakhs, free telehealth services, and an L&D budget.

About the Role: This is a full-time, hybrid role focused on MEL and Strategy development, but not limited only to it. This role will involve development, implementation, and management of projects pertaining to monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning. 

We are headquartered in Mumbai with team members based in cities across urban India. 

Joining date: Rolling (latest, March 2026)

Key Requirements

We are looking for individuals who can fulfil the following criteria. 

  1. A bachelor’s degree in development studies, law, policy, or a related field. 
  2. At least 3+ years of relevant full-time work experience. A master’s degree in a relevant field may be considered up to 1 year of work experience.
  3. Comfort with ambiguity and ability to work in a fluid entrepreneurial environment, including willingness to learn new systems or approaches quickly.
  4. Ability to synthesise knowledge from different sources, build interlinkages and apply it to knowledge products and services.
  5. Knowledge of MEL practices and experience in executing MEL-related projects, along with experience in building out the practice area through business development. 
  6. Demonstrated experience in entrepreneurial roles, with an ability to showcase high accountability and ownership, and an ability to inspire confidence and motivation amongst other stakeholders while being able to take calculated risks. 
  7. Is able to work collaboratively with a remote team and external stakeholders, is able to problem-solve creatively and ability to provide and receive constructive feedback effectively. 
  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to share information with clarity. 
  9. Demonstrates a learning mindset and a commitment to continuous learning, development, and improvement. 

Roles and responsibilities:

  1. Execution of MEL Design and Learning Consulting Projects
    1. Lead the design of MEL frameworks, theories of change, results frameworks, and learning agendas across consulting engagements.
    2. Design MEL approaches which are participatory, context-sensitive, and aligned with justice, equity, and inclusion principles.
    3. Integrate qualitative and quantitative methods, including reflective and sense-making approaches.
    4. Ensure MEL approaches respond to core strategic questions (what is working, for whom, why, and what needs to change) rather than only reporting requirements.
    5. Lead the delivery of MEL-related consulting projects as and when required. 
  1. Execution of Strategic Learning and Sense-Making Consulting Projects
    1. Lead, design and facilitate learning, reflection, and sense-making spaces (workshops, learning reviews, pause-and-reflect sessions).
    2. Synthesise qualitative and quantitative evidence into clear strategic insights, briefs, and decision-support products.
    3. Support clients and internal teams to strengthen their ability to use evidence for strategy, not just accountability.
    4. Completing all allied activities about the execution of consulting agreements and being responsible for the delivery of all consultancy-related deliverables. 
    5. Lead the delivery of strategy-related consulting projects as and when required. 
  1. Allied consulting project execution and responsibilities
    1. Execution of high-quality consulting engagements as per the allocation on the team, which relate to broader social impact consulting, beyond MEL and Strategy. 
    2. Maintenance of timely and professional communication with the clients and project management to ensure the successful delivery of the project. 
  1. Business Development and Partnerships 
    1. Lead MEL and strategy-related consulting applications, contributing to the growth of the consulting vertical. 
    2. Research, drafting, and development of suitable proposals/applications to be submitted for potential consulting opportunities, particularly for MEL-related opportunities and others as needed arises.  
    3. Relationship building and maintenance with current and new, potential partners. 

Additional Notes
Please note that all deliverables under this vertical are varied and require a high amount of willingness and capacity to innovate. This role requires the candidate to be comfortable with picking up streams of research and information that they may not have engaged with extensively in the past.
